Kiwanis StoryWalk® is an initiative from Kiwanis to encourage literacy and exercise for children. A StoryWalk® is a sign installation that displays a storybook along a walking path page-by-page. In order to read the story, families will walk along the path and read along.
In 2022, the North Brunswick Kiwanis Club initiated this popular school reading program, “Read to a Dog” for second graders in several local elementary schools. NBKC members want to instill a love of reading that will stay with the participants for life! The children select a book and have three reading sessions with a club member and a stuffed dog along with a book of their choosing. A picture is taken with the dog and they are presented with a certificate personalized for each participant. The child keeps the book and is given a small stuffed dog to take home with them as a prize.
Join us for a time of fellowship and support as we gather as a community at the Walk for Scholarships event hosted by the North Brunswick Kiwanis and North Brunswick High School Key Clubs! No registration fee, no fundraising minimum – just pure excitement for a great cause!
