2023 – 2024 Report

  • Distributed candy to over 3,000 children at the October Trunk/Treat event in Leland
  • Awarded 10, $1,000 college scholarships to graduating North Brunswick Highschool seniors
  • Provided 10 Angel Tree gifts to clients of Brunswick Family Assistance [BFA]
  • Delivered over 250 meals to clients of Brunswick Senior Services Meals on Wheels Program
  • Provided a ‘shopping day’ for 6 students at the Boys and Girls Homes at Lake Waccamaw
  • Provided 20 backpacks filled with school supplies for the BFA Christmas in July event
  • Provided 120 backpacks filled with personal and school supplies to foster children through our own Project Dignity
  • Hosted 2400 children and parents in two StoryWalk® venues in Belville and Leland
  • Expanded “Read to a Dog” literacy project to Lincoln, and Town Creek Elementary Schools
  • Members became ‘lunch buddies’ in Leland and Town Creek Middle Schools
  • Initiated “Listening Post’ in Leland & Town Creek Middle Schools
  • Coordinated with Lowe’s Home Improvement in the installation of a ‘buddy bench’ at Lincoln Elementary School
  • Awarded “Terrific Kid’ designation to over 200 students at Belville, Lincoln, & Town Creek Elementary Schools
  • Participated in “Read Across America”
  • Served as mentors in Brunswick County Sheriff’s “Teen Court”
  • Received the Kiwanis International ‘Distinguished Club” Award
  • Six [6] members were recognized by Kiwanis International as “Distinguished.”
  • Served as the catalyst for a Boys and Girls Club Satellite in Brunswick County
  • Served as proctors in schools during annual testing programs
  • Recipient of the Anna May Smith Award for Service from the Kiwanis Carolinas District
